Who is the CASA River Century Committee?
We have a very diverse River Century committee made up of riders, runners, community
members and board members of CASA of the Eastern Panhandle.
Timothy Hott- Co-Director- This is Tim’s third year assisting with
the River Century, and he is an avid biker, runner and athlete. Tim runs, rides,
and swims; he also participates in sprint triathlons. A Martinsburg resident for
twenty years, he is originally from Hampshire County, WV. His two daughters are
currently attending James Madison University. (Go Dukes!)
Samantha Muncy- Co-Director- Samantha is the Vice President of
the CASA board, and manages the Edward Jones Investments office in Martinsburg.
She runs and swims, and has completed several half-marathons. She is currently training
for her first full marathon; this is her third year to assist with the ride.
Jeanne Fisher- Route Committee- Jeanne has assisted with the CASA
ride for five years, and is now directing the route committee, along with a dedicated
group of committee members! She enjoys traveling, reading, and biking with the CVCC.
Jeanne also attends Tuscarora Presbyterian Church. She teaches communication for
Shepherd University and Yoga at the Clarion Hotel in Shepherdstown.
Kara Klein Gibson- Corporate Sponsorship- Kara stays active with
tennis, wakeboarding, skiing and gardening…anything outside! Kara loves the Panhandle,
and is also a board member of CASA. She looks forward to seeing famliar faces in
2013, along with new riders to benefit a great cause.
Megan Shea- Megan works for the Washington County school system,
and enjoys swimming, biking and running. She participated in the 25 mile CASA ride
last year! In her free time, she likes to read and spend time with her friends and
Bill Wortley- Marketing- Retired, and a resident of Hedgesville,
Bill enjoys traveling and reading. He is very active with both the Rotary Club of
Martinsburg, and as a board member of CASA of the Eastern Panhandle.
Marilyn J. Schoon- Marketing- Marilyn is active with the CASA Board,
the Rotary Club of Martinsburg, the Shepherd Masterworks Chorale, and has volunteered
with the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts for 38 years. She retired from
teaching at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax County;
and also enjoys creating dichroic jewelry when she has time.
Dan Hall- Dan is very active in the community, and is the Vice-President
and Design Chair of Main Street Martinsburg. He is also involved with A.R.E; and
of course helps with CASA! Dan works for State Farm Insurance. He enjoys sprint
triathlons and running in 5k and 10k events. Dan has participated in the ride for
the last two years.
Elaine Bobo- Elaine enjoys doing everything she can outside, and
loves to bike and read. She also enjoys reading, and is very involved with the community.
Elaine volunteers with the Martinsburg Parks and Recreation Board, Martinsburg High
School Alumni Association Board, Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce Board, Women’s
Network Committee and the Sunrise Rotary. She is a branch banker at Centra Bank
in North Martinsburg. Elaine participated in the 2010 ride!
Lisa Davis- Volunteer Coordination- Lisa is the Executive Director
of CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, and will be coordinating all of our volunteers.
The entire CASA committee would like to extend great thanks to our past committee
members who created this wonderful event, and executed it with great passion. We
could not have done this without their effort and dedication to CASA and the children
they serve. Although this list is far from complete, we would like to especially
thank Joan Piemme and Val Smith, Randy Tremba, Kathy Reid, Jenny Allen, Jeanne Fisher
and Bill Wilcox for their commitment. We also appreciate everyone who has contributed
